Biography
Completing a T-Level in Health has made it possible for me to follow a career path which I had no idea I was interested in. Before completing any of the placements, which are a mandatory part of the T-Level, I was almost 100% set on becoming a paediatric nurse. Although I do love the idea of this still, during my second year of placements, in my long block placement in theatres, I decided that I wanted a future there.
With the amazing opportunity of an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) apprenticeship about to be released, I applied straight away. With only 5 spots on the apprenticeship I was hesitant, and not confident on getting the job, but with the help from my teachers who have experience in the
NHS, they were able to help me prepare efficiently and effectively for the interview process. This made me feel much more confident about the interview. I would recommend a T-Level to anyone who knows what sector they want to work in, but does not know exactly what job title they would like, as it gives you a great start and gives you amazing opportunities that you would not get if you were to do A-Levels or any other courses.
Without the T-Level placement, I may not be following the same career path as I am today.
