Functional Skills Maths
This Level 2 Functional Skills Maths course covers the skills that are needed in everyday life and working environments.
During the course you will study the following:
– Fractions
– Decimals
– Percentages
– Data analysis
– Measurement
– Probability
You can study this course at our North Devon Campus or our Tiverton campus.
N.B. Fees will apply if you have already achieved a grade A-C or 9-4.

Assessments
You will sit an exam at the end of the course that covers both calculator and on-calculator questions. You will need to attend the college site to sit the exams.
Entry Requirements
You will need a Level 1 Maths qualification or evidence of working at this level. If you have not achieved this, you can sit an initial assessment to check if this is the right course for you.
Progression
Functional Skills Maths Level 2 is a key qualification for employment, further and higher education. Gaining this qualification can open up a wide range of courses including access to Higher Education Diplomas and Level 3 qualifications, as well as enabling progression within the workplace.
Facilities and resources
You will need a scientific calculator and a geometry set. The lecturer will advise on the best calculator to buy.

Q: Is there any funding available to help pay for my course?
A: Many of our courses are free to attend (subject to eligibility). We will carry out a fee assessment when you enrolment to establish if you meet this criteria.
Q. I have not studied for a while, what support will be available?
A. As well as support from your lecturer, you will also have access to our Adult Success Coach team. They can support you through the course by helping you to break down any barriers to learning and completing the course.
